Airton is in the upper valley of the River Aire. From Skipton take the A65 to Gargrave. Turn right there towards Malham. When you reach Airton village continue and pass a row of tall houses on the left.
This former Methodist church has now ceased to be a place of worship (2011) and is being used as a nursery. The building was erected in 1898 as a Weslyan Methodist church and it replaced the older Wesleyan church at Scosthrop. This still stands at the T junction with the Settle Road in Scosthrop and was built in 1835.
